Hydrafacial
Hydrafacial is a medical-grade hydradermabrasion treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and infuses the skin in a single 30 to 50 minute session. We perform Hydrafacial at both BioPlus locations using the authentic Hydrafacial system.
How Hydrafacial Works
The Hydrafacial system uses a vortex-fluid handpiece that combines water-based exfoliation with vacuum extraction and serum infusion. The treatment progresses through four stages: cleansing and gentle exfoliation, mild acid peel, painless suction-based extraction, and final infusion of antioxidant and peptide serums.
The process is non-invasive and produces no downtime. Most patients return to normal activities immediately afterward, often with makeup applied later the same day.
What Hydrafacial Treats
- Congested pores and blackheads
- Dehydrated and dull skin
- Uneven skin tone and mild pigmentation
- Fine lines and early signs of aging

- Sensitive skin (with adjusted protocol)
What to Expect
Before your appointment
No specific preparation is required. We recommend avoiding direct sun exposure and exfoliating products for 48 hours beforehand.
During your appointment
The treatment takes 30 to 50 minutes depending on the protocol selected. The handpiece moves across the face in a methodical pattern. Most patients describe the sensation as a cool brushing or massage. There is no needling and no laser energy involved.
After your appointment
Your skin will look brighter and feel hydrated immediately. Some patients notice mild redness for the first hour. Results from a single session typically last 5 to 7 days. Patients on a maintenance schedule book a Hydrafacial every 4 to 6 weeks.
Hydrafacial in a Treatment Plan
Hydrafacial works well as a standalone monthly treatment and as a complement to other procedures in our clinic. It is often booked alongside or between treatments such as Carbon Laser Peel, Microneedling, or Mesotherapy. For acute skin congestion or active acne, our team may recommend the Professional Acne Recovery Plan instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I get a Hydrafacial?
Most patients on a maintenance plan book Hydrafacial every 4 to 6 weeks. For active congestion or specific events, more frequent sessions may be appropriate.
Is Hydrafacial safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Hydrafacial protocols are adjusted for sensitive skin types and can typically be performed without irritation. We assess skin sensitivity at the start of each appointment.
Can I get a Hydrafacial before an event?
Yes. Hydrafacial is one of the most popular pre-event treatments because it produces immediate visible results without downtime. Booking 1 to 3 days before an event is common.
Is Hydrafacial the same as a regular facial?
Hydrafacial is a medical-grade hydradermabrasion system. The vortex-fluid handpiece, the standardized serum protocols, and the equipment-driven extraction make it a more clinical treatment than most spa facials.
How does Hydrafacial compare to Bella MD+?
Both are non-invasive multi-step skin treatments. Bella MD+ uses diamond microdermabrasion and serum infusion. Hydrafacial uses water-based hydradermabrasion. Our team can recommend which suits your skin during a consultation.
