THE BIOPLUS STORY

Founded in 1996. Still evolving.

BioPlus International Laser & Skin Clinic was founded in Vancouver in 1996 by Luwyna Li, originally as the first Canadian Bioscor clinic. Luwyna Li had a clear thesis: that medical aesthetics deserved the same rigor and innovation as any other branch of medicine, and that patients deserved to be treated by physicians who knew their devices, their craft, and their patients deeply.

That thesis is still the foundation of how we operate today, nearly 30 years on.

In 2022, we expanded with a second location in Richmond, opening as Bio-International Laser Clinic. By 2024, both clinics were brought together under one name: BioPlus International Laser & Skin Clinic, the brand we operate under today. In August 2025, BioPlus acquired The One Skin Clinic, welcoming their team and longtime patients into our network. Two of the doctors many BioPlus patients now know well, Dr. Sanaz Gharedaghi and Dr. Cindy Huang, were part of that acquisition and continue to care for the patients who first knew them at The One.

In the fall of 2025, our Burnaby flagship reopened after a full renovation, a clinic built for the next decade of treatments. The Richmond location continues to grow under the leadership of Medical Director Dr. Sam X. Zong.

For patients who shop online, The One Skin Clinic's e-commerce store, its rewards program, and its medical-grade skincare catalogue all came with us. Same point balances. Same products. Now under The Glow Account, our rewards program for the patients who trust us with their skincare.

Luwyna Li

Founder, Managing Director, and Premier Laser Specialist

Luwyna Li opened the first Canadian Bioscor clinic in 1996 and has spent nearly 30 years building what is now BioPlus. She was the first practitioner in British Columbia to offer Fotona Q-Switched systems and PicoSure treatments, and she remains directly involved in patient care at our Burnaby flagship.

Her vision continues to guide every decision we make about technology, team, and treatment philosophy. The clinic you visit today is the product of her standards and the team she has built around them.
